This beautiful early nineteenth century palazzo has been recently restored
with elegant furnishings that nicely complement the faux marbled walls, wooden
beamed ceilings, and finely finished floors in the style of the old Venetian palaces.
Inside is the home of the owners and two sunny, spacious and luxurious air-conditioned
apartments that offer every amenity, including wireless internet access and DVD player. On the same property are tennis courts (unheard
of in Venice!) which can be used for a small fee. The palazzo is located in a
quiet part of central Venice (S. Stae vaporetto stop), eight minutes from the
train station, ten minutes from San Marco and five minutes from Ponte di Rialto.
Besides being within walking distance of most of Venice's cultural attractions
and splendor, the area is also conveniently located near a variety of food shops,
banks, and noted restaurants but away from the crowds in the busy tourist season.
The young owners speak English well and provide a wonderful welcome source of
information.
Grimani (120 sq. meters): Sleeps 4+2
The Grimini apartment occupies the first two floors of the palazzo. On the first floor is a
spacious living and dining room. The living room is furnished
with comfortable antique chairs, sofa, oriental rug, coffee table and card table.
The dining area has large windows and glass doors opening onto the enclosed
private garden and tennis courts, and a table that seats six
comfortably. The well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher. There is a sunny downstairs bedroom with two single beds, with a bathroom (tub and shower) across the hall. A winding staircase leads to the second floor, with an airy family room/loft with parquet floors, wooden beams, a skylight, a balcony overlooking the living room, and a double sofabed. There is another bedroom with two single beds and a skylight on this level. Across the hall is a laundry room with a washing machine and a bathroom with shower and heated towel rack.
Loredan apartment (100 sq. meters): Sleeps

Loredan apartment is elegant, with beautifully restored ceilings and floors, fine furnishings, and truly breathtaking views of Venice. The living room has parquet floors, large comfortable couches, antique chairs, a bureau, coffee table, and oriental rug. The ceiling shows the original rafters and decorative tiles of the roof. When the curtains are pulled back, the room fills with sunlight and offers a lovely view of the surrounding Venetian palaces.
A step down from the living room is the dining room, with a table that seats
six and a window overlooking tile rooftops and a wide, sunny canal below. To the
right of the dining room is the little kitchen that is fully equipped, with a dishwasher and its own skylight. Next to the living room is a bedroom with two single beds and a stunning view from the window. Just outside the bedroom is a bathroom which can be en suite to the bedroom or not, as you wish. The other bedroom, tucked under the slant of the roof
(with skylights), also has two single beds. Because of an ingenious headboard arrangement, the beds can be
made up as one (queen) or as twins. Across the way is the bathroom with shower and heated towel
rack. Next to the bathroom is a laundry room with washing machine.
