Casa della Luce is set in the beautiful hills of Tuscany, halfway
between Siena and Arezzo (25 km). From here, one can travel north to Florence
(50 km) or Chianti, or explore the unique landscape of the Crete. Destinations
like Pienza, Montalcino, and Montepulciano are within easy daytrip distance. The
closest village is Ambra, just 7 km away, with shops, post office, pharmacy, coffee
bars and restaurants. Facilities for horseback riding, polo, and wine tasting
are available nearby, and excellent shopping (Gucci, Armani, Ferragamo, and many
others) can be found at The Mall in Leccio (35 km).
Casa
della Luce is located on the "Strada del Vino Terre di Arezzo" (the wine route).
An unpaved road leads from the main road to this large estate, surrounded by olive
groves, vineyards, and woodlands. The road can be rough so we recommend renting a car with four-wheel drive or with very high carriage. This charming farmhouse has been renovated to
offer traditional Tuscan style with modern conveniences. The property has a well-kept,
fenced garden of flowering plants and olive trees, and lovely outdoor spaces to
relax or dine al fresco. The large patio has a pizza oven and BBQ, and the beautiful
swimming pool (16 x 5 meters; open June 1-September 30) is equipped with lounge
chairs and a comfortable futon in the shade. Just next to the pool area is a sauna
and an extra bathroom with shower.
The owner lives in another
villa on the estate, but it is 1.5 kilometers from the house and cottage, so guests
have complete privacy with the security of knowing someone is nearby if needed. MAIN
HOUSE (200 sq meters)
Built on two levels, with traditional cotto floors
and beamed ceilings, this is a perfect place to enjoy an authentic experience
in the Tuscan countryside! The main house is fully air conditioned. On the ground
floor there is a spacious, charming living room with a fireplace and satellite
TV. The dining room has a long wooden table in front of a large window with a
view of the garden. The fully equipped kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher, and
a washing machine. There is also a guest half-bathroom on this level. Each room
on the ground floor has direct access to the garden. A stone staircase (13 steps)
leads to the second floor, where there are three cozy double bedrooms (beds are
not divisible), each with its own en suite bath. One bedroom has a bathtub with
handheld shower. Another has a bathroom with a shower, and the third has a bathtub
and a separate shower. All of the bedrooms are air conditioned and are nicely
furnished, with antique wooden furniture, cotto floors, and beamed ceilings. Hair
dryers are provided in each bathroom, and there is also an iron and ironing board
in the house. GUESTHOUSE (180 sq meters)
Next
to the main house is a cottage with a bright, spacious living room with a fireplace,
large windows, and comfortable furniture. The kitchen corner has a refrigerator
and electric range, and there is one double bedroom with a large en suite pink
marble bathroom with shower. Only the bedroom is air conditioned in the guesthouse.
