L’Eremo is located in the quaint medieval borgo of Montevettolini, perched on high on a hill and surrounded by olive trees and meadows of poppies. The village boasts many ancient buildings, the most famous of which is the imposing Villa Medici. There is an ancient and magical atmosphere here that can still be felt today as you walk through the picturesque streets of the borgo. Beyond the village, scenic walking paths lead to castles and countryside. Each September, on the second Saturday of the month, a medieval feast takes place, and the borgo leaps into the past as streets are illuminated by torches and musicians perform in little squares and alleys.

L’Eremo is an historical dwelling dating back to the 15th century. It was carefully restored in 2006, and has been tastefully furnished and embellished with fine tapestries and fabrics, retaining many of its original characteristics — Florentine stone, red brick barrel-vaulted ceilings, and terracotta floors — and balancing them harmoniously with modern creature comforts.

Outside is a wonderful loggia with a lovely terrace, ideal for candlelit dinners or relaxing in the Jacuzzi after a long day of sightseeing.

An 18-hole golf course is located just 3 kilometers away (with reduced greens fees for guests of L’Eremo), or you can pamper yourself at the world-famous Grotta Giusti Spa (5 km), offering Tibetan massage, thermal baths, mud treatments and more, and a new open-air thermal swimming pool, with a waterfall and underwater hydromassage. The fashionable town of Montecatini Terme, renowned for its nine thermal baths and considered to be the most important spa town in Europe, is only 8 kilometers away.

Parking is available in the piazetta (the square near the property, about 50 meters away). During summer weekends, the square is closed for non-resident traffic; however, you can leave your car in another public parking 200 meters from the property.
