A Tuscan country road (4 km uphill) leads to the two-story Villa Fiorentina, situated on three acres of idyllic grounds, surrounded by olive and fruit trees, with a stunning view over the rolling hills. The property is landscaped
with flowers and herbs; rosemary, basil, sage, thyme, and arugula are seasonally
available.
Villa Fiorentina is seven miles east of Florence, near Fiesole, which
sits on a hill overlooking the Arno River, offerings cool breezes and beautiful
views. This is an ideal base for visitors who desire the best of both city and
country. You can take a train or city bus into the historic center of Florence
in just 20 minutes. A 10-minute drive brings you to the A-1 superstrada,
putting destinations like Lucca, Pisa, Grosseto, Siena, Arezzo, Montepulciano,
and Chianti within easy daytrip distance.
Villa Fiorentina
is located near (but not within walking distance) a tiny village with a supermarket,
bakery, ATM, and coffee bar. Tennis and golf are available nearby, and a variety
of restaurants are within 10-20 minutes' drive of the villa. The villa has been restored with attention to custom detail in an international, eclectic style while maintaining the integrity of the Tuscan aesthetic. The interior decoration combines antiques with modern sofas and other contemporary furniture. The exterior furniture is custom designed as well.
A spacious living/dining
area (15 x 30 ft), with wooden beams and a working Tuscan fireplace, is surrounded by large
windows. The inlaid wood dining table comfortably seats fourteen. The modern kitchen is outfitted with
a microwave, espresso machine, fridge, dishwasher, large double sink,
marble countertops, and fine china and table linens.
The villa has four spacious bedrooms:
three large double bedrooms (two with queen beds and one with two twins) and one
master bedroom suite (with king-sized bed). All of the bedrooms are air-conditioned, and there are also remote controlled ceiling fans. Each of the beds has
a luxurious duvet. There are five full bathrooms, decorated with marble, wood,
and authentic ceramic tile. Bathrooms are equipped with hairdryers, bathrobes,
toiletries and heated towel racks.
There are three terraces on the property. The first, at the entrance to the house, has a sitting area and spectacular panoramic view. The second is a large pergola in the upper gardens with a sitting and dining area equipped with a Tuscan barbeque and marble counter with sink. The third is adjacent to the pool with a sitting area as well as a covered outdoor dining area.
Amenities include screens on most windows, new individual room controlled central heating, satellite TV, phone, fax, internet access, CD and DVD players and useful, informative book collection. There is a washing machine upstairs exclusively for the use of guests, but the main laundry/supply room is not for guests' use. The housekeeper will assist with laundry, including drying, at no extra cost (except ironing).
The villa is divided in half and another family owns the other half, but they are seldom there (and if they should be, the plantings and walls are located to afford privacy for both parts of the building). The swimming pool is private and only for guests of Villa Fiorentina.
The villa is rented with a staff of three. The housekeeper and her assistants provide cleaning daily except Sunday.
Villa Fiorentina is strictly
a non-smoking property. Children under four are not permitted unless they are
well-supervised.
