This peaceful little garden house is located in the Oltrarno, a quiet neighborhood just across the Arno that is known for its artisans' studios and its lively bars and restaurants. Just a stone's throw from the Ponte Vecchio, the location is quiet and tranquil, yet all of the attractions of Florence are within walking distance. This small, freestanding house is set in the owner's garden, with access to its own private section of the yard. In the garden is a table and chairs for al fresco dining under the pergola. Casetta nel Giardino is beautifully furnished, with comfortable sofas and a wall that is completely lined with books, creating the mood of a library or reading room. At one end of the room is a round dining table, and beyond, a well equipped open kitchen outfitted with a dishwasher and a washer and dryer. There is also a bathroom with shower on the ground floor. Upstairs is a bedroom suite with a king-sized bed and an en suite marble bathroom with a tub and double sinks. A small sitting area has a sofabed that can sleep another person, but because is it located within the bedroom suite, it affords no privacy. Amenities include TV (Italian channels), a VCR in the bedroom, and high speed internet access. The house has central heat for the cooler months and is fully air-conditioned for summer. The friendly, English speaking owners live just across the garden, should you need assistance, and the charming housekeeper can answer your questions. Casetta nel Giardino can be rented together with La Quiete to accommodate a total of 5+2. Children under 10 are not permitted. |
