Lago Sereno is located just three miles from the city of Como, on one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy. This aristocratic 18th-century villa, along with another magnificent residence, Villa Celeste, is located located down a quarter-mile gated road that is guarded by a quaint gatehouse, on an estate surrounded by seven acres of magnificent gardens and woods. During the 19th century, the two residences were restored by a celebrated dancer who, along with other famous artists and musicians of her time, was drawn to the beauty and romantic atmosphere of Lake Como. More recently, the current owners have completely renovated and furnished the villas to offer the finest of modern living combined with a sense of history and wonderful family antiques. Across the lake is Villa D'Este, one of the most luxurious hotels in the world. Depending upon availability, guests at Lago Sereno may request access to the 18-hole Villa D'Este golf course in Montorfano. On the garden floor level, there is a frescoed entrance from a courtyard with a lake view. A reading room with sofa, television, fireplace, and library offers a view of the courtyard. There are also two bedrooms on this level. Each has its own library, fireplace, balcony on the lake, and en suite marble bathroom. One has a matrimonial bed; the other has two twin beds, which may be joined on request. An additional guest bathroom is located on this level. On the roof floor level, there is a frescoed cupola with a balcony and three additional bedrooms, all with en suite marble bathrooms. All three have two single beds (joinable); two offer a lake view. The frescoed salon and dining room with double fireplace is located on the lake shore level of the villa and offers access to the lakeshore terrace. A contemporary kitchen is fully equipped (two dishwashers, two ovens, large refrigerator). There is also a laundry room and guest bathroom with shower on this level. Lago Sereno offers many options for transportation. Parking is available for guests in a private underground facility. From the villa's private dock, guests can use a rental boat or the comfortable water-taxis to visit the Villa D'Este or the charming villages of Lake Como. A seaplane service is available nearby for discovery tours of the thrilling alpine lake scenery or to ensure exclusive commuting in a 10-seat turbine Cessna Caravan seaplane to destinations like Saint Moritz, Venice, and Capri; a one-hour seaplane tour is provided without charge. . Lago Sereno is fully staffed, with many additional services available upon request. The villa can be rented with Villa Celeste to accommodate up to 22 guests. When Villa Celeste is not occupied, guests at Lago Sereno may use the pool. Children under 8 years are permitted only with a nanny or dedicated babysitter. Arrival Day: Saturday
