Midway between Ménerbes and Roussillon is the beautiful postcard village of Goult, an ancient hilltop village with many beautiful buildings made of stone. Its narrow, picturesque lanes are walled, with arched doorways and vaulted passages. The village has an excellent bakery, where you can begin your mornings with a delicious croissant or pain au chocolat. There is a post office, a wonderful grocery shop, and several excellent restaurants, all within walking distance of your villa. The closest train station is in Avignon, less than an hour's drive.

Le Trésor offers an unusual combination: a luxury villa located right in a village, offering exceptional comfort in an undeniably Provençal ambiance. Located at the end of a quiet lane in the heart of the village, the house was constructed during the 17th century but has been recently renovated and professionally decorated to the highest level of comfort and beauty.

The house is made of stone, with a traditional terracotta roof. On the ground floor, there is a spacious living room with a fireplace and a dining room with an elegant farm table. The fabulous kitchen is well outfitted and is fully modern; original stone walls and soft pastel colors give it a feeling of warmth. Appliances are top-quality, with a semi-professional stove and a dishwasher, as well as a washer and dryer. Amenities include satellite TV, DVD player, fax machine, stereo, security system, and high speed internet access.

Three bedrooms are located in a spiral from the stairway, each on its own level and with its own en suite bathroom. Half a flight up from the living room is a room with joinable twin beds and a bathroom with shower, as well as a small office with fax machine and internet access. The master bedroom is next, with a queen-sized bed, a dressing room with double sinks, and a large bathroom with an antique tub and modern stall shower. The third bedroom has a double bed and a bathroom with shower.

Stone paths, flowerbeds, and a lovely garden surround the villa. The kitchen opens onto a flagstone terrace with a panoramic view over the Lubéron. Stone steps descend to a dramatic swimming pool, carved right into the rocks.

A word of caution: The entire swimming pool is a uniform depth (4'4"), with no shallow end, making it hazardous for small children. To ensure their safety, no children under 8 years are permitted.

Le Trésor is ideal for two or three couples traveling together, or for a family with older children, who are looking for the true Provençal village experience.
